Two children drown in Narayanganj lake

Two children named Al Amin (10) and Ibrahim (8) drowned in the lake of Jallarpar City Park in Narayanganj city. Their bodies were recovered with the help of locals at around 12:30 am on Friday (April 17). The two deceased children are the children of Shah Alam, a rickshaw puller from Dattakandi village in Sirajganj district. They lived with their family in a rented house in Almas Mia’s Khilmarket area of ​​Kashipur, Narayanganj.
According to family sources, the two brothers left home in the afternoon to go to a fair. But when they did not return even after evening, their relatives became worried.
At one stage of the long search, the family members found their clothes and shoes on the banks of the City Park lake. When suspicious, the locals were informed and a search was started in the lake. At one stage of the search, the elder brother Al Amin and after a while, the younger brother Ibrahim were rescued from under the water. They were rushed to Narayanganj General (Victoria) Hospital, where doctors declared both of them dead.
A resident of the area adjacent to the park said that relatives of the two children had been crying by the lake since evening. Later, locals went into the water, found them, rescued them and sent them to the hospital. In this regard, Narayanganj Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) MA Mannan said that two bodies have been recovered. Details of the deaths will be known after the autopsy.
