Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurates Hajj flights

Bangladesh has officially started operating Hajj flights ahead of the 2026 holy Hajj season. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated the program as the chief guest at a program organized at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Friday (April 17) night.
Tarique Rahman distributed gifts among the passengers of the flight and exchanged greetings with the passengers. At this time, the Prime Minister sought prayers from the Hajj passengers for the country and its people. Addressing the Hajj passengers, the Prime Minister said that after reducing the cost of Hajj per person by Tk 12,000 this year, the government will try to reduce the cost of Hajj further in the future.
Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad and other high-ranking government officials were present with the Prime Minister at the time. The Religious Affairs Minister said that the government is making every effort to ensure that the Hajj is completed smoothly. And the government is in touch with various organizations to ensure that the flights depart on time.
