Trawler sinks in Bay of Bengal: 5 fishermen not rescued even after three days

Five fishermen have not been rescued even after three days after a trawler sank in the deep Bay of Bengal, about 60 kilometers south of Moudubi Union and Payra seaport in Rangabali, Patuakhali. However, one of the six missing fishermen has been rescued alive. He was rescued by a group of fishermen from Bhola while fishing in the deep sea on Wednesday (July 8) night. Galachipa and Rangabali Upazila Fisheries Officer Md. Zahirunnabi confirmed the matter to Jugantar.
He said that the name of the rescued fisherman is Al Amin (45). He is a resident of Ghazalia area of ​​Galachipa Upazila and is the son of Chan Mia. After floating in the sea for a long time, Bhola fishermen rescued him alive and took him to Char Fashion. After providing him with first aid there, he is currently staying at the house of a fisherman from the rescue trawler in Char Fashion.
He also said that due to adverse weather conditions, it was not possible to immediately bring him back to his home area. He will be brought back to his family when the weather improves. However, no trace of the five missing fishermen has been found yet.
Earlier, a fishing trawler owned by Imadul Sikder of Kharida village of Panpatti union of Galachipa upazila sank in the deep Bay of Bengal, about 60 kilometers south of Moudubi union and Payra seaport in Rangabali at around 10 pm last Sunday. There were 11 fishermen on the trawler. Although five fishermen were rescued alive after the accident, six went missing. Three days later, one more was rescued alive. Five fishermen are still missing.
Since the trawler capsized, the local administration, coast guard, naval police, local fishermen and nearby fishing trawlers have continued their efforts to rescue the missing fishermen.
