Rape-murder should not be punished, mindset should also be changed: Pia

Model and lawyer Pia Jannatul has claimed that if you open the media or social media pages, you will find news of rape of women or children and murder after rape. She also commented that we are getting used to such news every day. Pia Jannatul said this in a video message on her verified Facebook page today (May 21). At that time, she demanded an investigation into these incidents along with the reasons.
In the caption of the video, Pia wrote, “Women are being raped and killed every day. It is not enough to just give strict punishment, we also have to change the sick mindset from which violence against women is born.” She said, it is not possible to reduce these crimes with laws alone. Of course, we want speedy justice. We also have to think about why such crimes are increasing.
How does this disappointment towards women affect a young woman? Raising such a question, Pia Jannatul said, “I think it includes violent pornography, toxic masculinity, uncontrolled anger, drug addiction, childhood trauma—when these are present in a boy, it manifests itself towards women or children.” She also suggested teaching boys about mental health in her post.
