Protest at Eden Women’s College at midnight demanding a ban on student politics

Students staged a midnight protest at Eden Women’s College in the capital demanding a ban on student politics. They started the protest by breaking the lock of the main gate of the college at around 11:30 pm on Saturday (May 9). At that time, the students were heard chanting slogans like ‘Student politics, this Eden will not continue’. At one point, they tried to break down some gates of the campus.
The protesters tried to set fire to various banners and festoons hanging at the gates. They demanded an end to all kinds of political influence on the campus. Earlier, the words ‘Politics-free campus’ written on the gate of Eden College were erased with paint after yesterday evening. A group of students joined the movement. The situation on the campus remains tense till the time of writing this report.
