Bodies of two Bangladeshis killed in BSF firing handed over

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has handed over the bodies of two Bangladeshis killed in BSF firing at the Kasba border in Brahmanbaria. The BSF returned the bodies of the slain Mursalin and Nabir Hossain through a flag meeting on Saturday (May 9) afternoon in the presence of border guards and law enforcement agencies of the two countries.
Mursalin (20) is the son of Hebju Mia of Dhajanagar village on the Bishnouri border in Kasba upazila, and Nabir Hossain is the son of deceased Makram Ali of Madhupur village in Kasba. The BGB said that on Friday (May 8) night, about 15 Bangladeshi smugglers were arrested by BSF-49 Battalion jawans from Kasba upazila in Brahmanbaria while they were returning with illegal goods from India. At this time, a scuffle broke out between the BSF members and the Bangladeshi smugglers.
The BGB further said that at one stage of the scuffle, the BSF members opened fire on them. Mursalin and Nabir Hossain were seriously injured. Later, the BSF rescued the two injured and took them to a hospital in Agartala, Tripura state, where they died during treatment. In this regard, Lieutenant Colonel Sharif, Commander of Sultanpur Battalion-60 of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), confirmed that the bodies of the two Bangladeshis killed in BSF firing were brought back through a flag meeting. In this regard, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kasba Police Station Nazneen Sultana said, “The two bodies were handed over to us through a flag meeting between the BGB and BSF and in the presence of Indian police. The process of handing over the bodies to the relatives of the deceased after completing the legal process is underway.”
