Plane crashes at Milestone due to pilot error

Interim government’s chief advisor Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said that a plane crashed at Milestone School and College due to pilot error. He made the statement at a briefing held at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Wednesday (November 5) afternoon, quoting the report of the investigation committee formed into the incident.
The press secretary said, “A training plane of the Air Force crashed at Milestone School and College on July 21. 36 people were killed in it. An investigation committee was formed on July 29 regarding the accident. The report was submitted to the chief advisor today. The head of the investigation committee, Lieutenant General Kamrul Hasan, submitted the report. He is the Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division.”
He said, “The main reason for the accident was the pilot’s mistake. When he was flying the plane during training, the situation went beyond his control. This is the conclusion. This entire investigation committee has spoken to 150 people. Among them are experts, eyewitnesses. Among them are victims. They have spoken to everyone. They have uncovered 168 pieces of information and out of these, they have made 33 recommendations. The report has many findings and many recommendations.” Shafiqul Alam said, ‘The main recommendation of the report is that from now on, in the interest of public safety, all basic training of the Air Force will be conducted outside Dhaka. This has been recommended from now on. The Chief Advisor has been informed about the matter.’
