Moscow restaurant blast kills 3, injures 21: BBC

At least three people have been killed and 21 injured in an explosion at an Italian restaurant in the Russian capital, Moscow, BBC News reported, citing Russian security officials. The explosion occurred at the Balzi Rossi restaurant on Moscow’s Kudrinskaya Square at around 8pm local time on Saturday (August 1).
Russia’s National Anti-Terrorism Committee said that a woman suspected of carrying explosives tried to enter the restaurant when security guards stopped her. But it was too late. The woman, a restaurant security guard and a visitor were killed in the explosion. It is reported that 21 injured people have been admitted to hospital for treatment.
Russian authorities have not yet said who the target of the incident was. However, many Moscow residents suspect that the incident may be linked to the war in the context of the war in Ukraine.
Several high-ranking military officers have been killed in and around the Russian capital in recent years, and Moscow has repeatedly blamed Kiev for the attacks. Initial reports said the explosion took place in the kitchen of a restaurant in a famous Stalin-era building in Moscow. Roads in the area were temporarily closed after the blast. Video released by the Russian news agency RIA showed heavily armed law enforcement officers at the scene. The area has been cordoned off to prevent public access.
