The country’s gold market has been affected by the decline in the price of acidic gold. In the latest adjustment, the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has reduced the price of gold. Gold will be sold at a new price from today, Thursday (July 16). In a notification issued last Tuesday morning, the price per bhori has been reduced by Tk 2,158. The price of acidic gold (pure gold) has decreased in the local market. As a result, the new price of gold has been determined considering the overall situation.
According to the new decision, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori (11.664 grams) including VAT in the country’s market will be Tk 2,19,808. In addition, 21-carat bhori is being sold at Tk 2,9,894, 18-carat bhori at Tk 1,80,267 and 1,47,316 per bhori in the traditional method.
Bajus said that this price will remain effective in all jewelry stores until further decision. However, wages will be applicable according to the design of the jewelry. Since the selling price of gold and silver jewelry includes VAT, VAT cannot be collected separately from customers.
