Fishermen to go to sea today at midnight after 58-day ban

Fishers in Bhola will go to sea today after the 58-day ban. Fishermen have regained their sense of relief after the ban was lifted after midnight today, Thursday (June 11). Fishermen are hopeful that fish will be caught in their nets, markets will be bustling at the wharfs and local warehouses will also be busy.
However, at the same time, there is concern among fishermen about the increase in fuel prices. It is learned that the 58-day ban imposed from April 15 for the reproduction, breeding and conservation of 420 species of marine fish in the sea began, which ends tonight. They hope that after being unemployed for a long time, they will get a chance to fish again.
Sea-going fishermen Idris Majhi and Ishtiaq said, “As per the order, we were unemployed, now we are preparing to go to sea after spending 10 lakh taka to repair the net boat. I hope we will get good fish.” They believe that if there is enough fish in the sea, it will be possible to overcome the financial crisis. However, there is also concern amidst this joy. The cost of running trawlers has increased due to the increase in fuel prices. Fishermen said that the cost of fishing will be much higher than before. Fishermen Belayet and Miraj said that the cost of fishing has increased, where it used to cost 10 thousand taka, now it has increased to 15 thousand taka. Among them, the hilsa crisis has made them even more worried. Fisheries officer Md. Iqbal Hossain said, there is no more obstacle to fishing in the sea, it is hoped that if more fish are caught, the financial crisis of the fishermen will be resolved. Because this time our campaign has been successful.
