Coast Guard provides medical assistance to critically ill child on passenger launch
After receiving a call on emergency service number 16111, the Coast Guard provided emergency medical assistance to a critically ill child on a passenger launch. Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan informed the media about this on Saturday (June 13) afternoon.
He said that on Saturday, a woman left Barisal for Dhaka with her 14-month-old daughter on a passenger launch named MV Karnaphuli-10. When the launch reached the area adjacent to Chandpur launch ghat at around 1:30 pm, the child’s physical condition suddenly deteriorated and her condition became critical.
Then the child’s mother called the Coast Guard’s emergency service number 16111 and sought help. He also said that based on the information received, a medical team from Coast Guard Station Chandpur quickly reached Chandpur launch ghat and provided first aid to the sick child. The child was later taken to Chandpur Sadar Hospital in a Coast Guard vehicle for advanced treatment.
