Allegations of gang rape of a teenager in Brahmanbaria

A teenager has been accused of gang rape in Ashuganj, Brahmanbaria. On Saturday evening (June 13), her family members admitted the teenager to the 250-bed General Hospital in Brahmanbaria. Earlier, this incident took place on June 10. The raped teenager’s home is in Khaoji village of Ashtagram upazila of Kishoreganj. The family lives in a rented house in Kalabagan area of ​​Ashuganj for professional reasons.
The teenager’s family said that on June 10, her mother sent her to buy bread from a shop around 8 pm. On the way to the shop, three youths, including local youth Zakaria and Anik, called her and took her to the fifth floor of a nearby building. There she was tied up and raped. Later, if she told anyone about the matter, her father and family members were threatened with death. Although the teenager did not say anything out of fear, she told her mother about the matter two days later when she became physically ill.
Ashuganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shafiqul Alam Chowdhury (OC) said that after receiving the information, the incident site was visited and the victim’s family members were spoken to. No written complaint has been received in this incident yet. If a complaint is received, necessary legal action will be taken after investigation. Brahmanbaria General Hospital Superintendent Ratan Kumar Dhali said that the victim girl has been admitted to the hospital and is undergoing treatment. The matter of rape can be confirmed once her physical examination report is received.
