Child murdered by slitting throat in Pallabi, Mirpur

An eight-year-old child named Lamisha was murdered by slitting her throat in Pallabi, Mirpur, Dhaka. The incident took place at around 9 am today (May 19) at house number 39, B Block, Section-11, Pallabi. Family members said that Lamisha’s elder sister did not return home in the morning after she went to a private school and the gate was open, so they started looking for her. Later, when the police arrived and opened the door, Lamisha’s body was recovered from inside.
In the initial investigation, the police suspect that it was a rape-murder case. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police has collected evidence from the scene. After the incident, it was learned that Sohel Rana, the tenant of the flat, escaped by cutting the window grill. Police said that a drive is underway to arrest him.
