Body of tutor wrapped in sack recovered from student’s house in Chapainawabganj
Police have recovered the body of a tutor named Maryam Begum (50) from Chapainawabganj. Her body was recovered from a student’s house in Namoshankarbati Chowkapara in Chapainawabganj municipal area on Tuesday (May 19) morning. The couple who own the house and a goldsmith have been taken into police custody for questioning in this incident. Maryam Begum (50) is the wife of Abul Kalam of Namoshankarbati Ujjalpara in Chapainawabganj municipal area. She used to run a family by giving private tuition.
Locals said that Maryam Begum had gone to their house on Monday (May 18) morning to give private tuition to the daughter of a man named Rubel. But even after the whole day passed, she did not return home. Her phone was also found switched off. The family members first searched at various places including the houses of relatives. Unable to find her anywhere, a general diary (GD) was filed at Sadar Model Police Station. This morning, after receiving a call on the emergency service number, the police recovered the body of Maryam Begum wrapped in a sack from Rubel’s house.
In this regard, Chapainawabganj Additional Superintendent of Police ANM Wasim Firoz said that upon receiving the information, the police quickly went to the spot and recovered the body wrapped in a sack. There were injury marks on her body. An earring belonging to the teacher was also recovered. The owner of the house, Rubel, his wife Sumi and goldsmith Deepak have been taken into police custody for questioning in this incident. Details will be announced once the investigation is completed.
