Child drowns in pond in Lakshmipur

A child named Jannat Akhter died in Abirnagar area of ​​Laharkandi union of Sadar upazila on Sunday (July 26) afternoon. The deceased Jannat (6) is the daughter of Nur Hossain Nuru, a resident of a farm house in Abirnagar area.
Family and locals said that Jannat was playing in the yard of the house instead of going to school in the morning. At one point, she fell into the pond unnoticed by everyone. Unable to find her, the family members started searching around. Later, at around 12:30 pm, they found Jannat’s body floating in the pond next to the house. Later, she was rescued and taken to Sadar Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared her dead.
Neighbor Jamal Uddin said, “The girl was very calm. The pond next to their house is covered in moss.” She fell into the pond unnoticed by everyone and drowned.’ Duty doctor at Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital, Zahurul Islam Roni, said, ‘The child died before being brought to the hospital. “I heard he had been in the water for a long time. We found him dead.”
