460 arrested in 24 hours in the capital, 12,000 yaba seized
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 460 people involved in various crimes in regular operations in the capital in the last 24 hours. During this time, 49 cases have been filed and 12,084 pieces of yaba, marijuana, Escaffe syrup and cash have been recovered.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Media and Public Relations Department of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Niaz Mehedi confirmed this information on Monday (July 20).
He said that among the arrested, 39 people were arrested from Ramna division, 33 from Lalbagh division, 57 from Wari division, 56 from Motijheel division, 62 from Tejgaon division, 126 from Mirpur division, 34 from Gulshan division, 47 from Uttara division and 6 from the Intelligence Department (DB).
During the operation, 12,084 pieces of Yaba, 120 grams of marijuana, 100 bottles of Escafe syrup and 4,800 taka in cash were recovered from the arrested persons. The DMP said that these persons along with narcotics were arrested during regular operations at various police stations in the capital. The process of taking legal action against the arrested persons is underway at the relevant police stations.
