US tells Israel of plans for more severe attacks on Iran
The US has officially informed Israel of its plans to intensify its ongoing military campaign against Iran in the coming days. At the same time, high-level discussions have taken place between the two countries on the possible security situation.
A special report by the Israeli media outlet ‘Kan’, citing unnamed Israeli and US security sources, said that the two countries discussed what kind of situation could arise if Iran retaliates.
However, Washington has taken a position not to directly involve Israel in the current conflict. The report said that this matter has been clearly conveyed to Tel Aviv. The strategic assessments of the two countries have expressed concern that Iran could attack Israel.
In that case, Israel may also be forced to retaliate inside Iran. However, the US administration wants to avoid such a situation for the time being. Meanwhile, the US has further strengthened its presence in the Middle East to increase its military capabilities. Additional military equipment and ammunition for US warplanes have been sent to Israel in the past 24 hours.
In addition, more than 10 aerial refueling planes have arrived in Israel from Europe and the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar as part of preparations to counter potential Iranian attacks on US interests. Meanwhile, Israeli news website WeNot reported, citing an Air Force source, that the US is planning to deploy around 100 aerial refueling planes to Israeli military bases and the southern Ramon airport.
The source claimed that the US air campaign against Iran would require the presence of more refueling planes in Israel.
WeNot added that some of these planes could also operate from Ben Gurion International Airport near Tel Aviv. The report also noted that 14 additional refueling planes landed there late last week.
Although a peace deal was signed between the United States and Iran in June, brokered by Pakistan, to end the war and establish a lasting peace, the number of mutual attacks between the two countries has increased significantly in recent times. In response to Washington’s continued attacks, Tehran has also been carrying out counterattacks targeting US bases and military installations in various countries in the Middle East.
