Youth killed in collision between two autorickshaws in Narayanganj
A youth named Shamsuzzaman was killed in a collision between two autorickshaws in the Saidpur area of Sadar upazila of Narayanganj. Two others were injured in the incident. The accident took place in front of the Nasim Osman Bridge in Char Saidpur today (May 21). The deceased Shamsuzzaman is the son of Nur Hossain Mia of South Kalabagh area of Bandar.
According to family sources, he worked in a local factory. Police and locals said that in the morning, two autorickshaws coming from opposite directions lost control while moving at high speed and collided with each other. Due to the intensity of the collision, the two autorickshaws overturned on the side of the road. At that time, Shamsuzzaman was crushed under the autorickshaw and seriously injured.
Nearby people quickly tried to rescue him and take him to the hospital. However, locals said that he died on the spot. Two other injured in the accident were treated locally. Their identities were not immediately known.
Sadar Model Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Billah said that the police reached the spot after receiving the information about the accident. Arrangements have been made for the injured to be treated. Narayanganj Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sajedur Rahman said that the body has been recovered and sent to the Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy. Legal proceedings related to the accident are ongoing.
