1 killed in bus-truck collision in Jhenaidah

A bus belonging to the Islamic University collided head-on with a truck in the Barada area of ​​the Kushtia highway in Shailkupa upazila of Jhenaidah. A truck driver named Imran Hossain (30) was killed in the incident. The incident took place on Wednesday (May 20) at around 6 pm. The deceased Imran is the son of Mohiuddin of Raninagar village of the upazila.
According to local sources, Imran Hossain was heading towards Garaganj with a truck after delivering goods to various shops in the Sheikhpara area. On the way, when he reached the Barada area, an Islamic University bus leaving from Jhenaidah hit the truck while overtaking a truck coming from the opposite direction. Imran, the truck driver, was seriously injured in the collision.
Later, locals rescued him and admitted him to the Shailkupa Upazila Health Complex. When his condition deteriorated there, he was advised to be taken to the Kushtia Medical College Hospital for better treatment. However, he died on the way to Kushtia. Jahanur Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Arappur Highway Police Station, said that the bus driver and the bus were killed in a head-on collision in Barada of Shailkupar. The bus has been seized.
