Youth arrested for secretly taking pictures of female students

Students of Bangladesh Agricultural University (Baku) have arrested a youth on charges of secretly taking pictures of female students and handed him over to the police. Drugs were also recovered from him at that time. The incident took place on Monday (May 11) afternoon at the university’s Abdul Jabbar intersection. The arrested person’s name is Abu Kharia Tofail. He is known to be a resident of Netrokona district.
Witnesses and students said that a female student of the university’s Food Engineering Department was caught red-handed while taking suspicious pictures on her mobile phone. Later, the students took her to the university’s proctor’s office. After taking her there, it was alleged that she broke her mobile phone and tried to destroy evidence. Drugs were also recovered from her at that time. Later, she was handed over to the police. The victim student said that on her way back from watching a game from the gymnasium, one of her brothers told us that the man was probably taking pictures. Later, when we tried to see her phone, we saw multiple pictures of different girls, including me, taken at the same place. He was then arrested and taken to the proctor’s office. In this regard, SI Md. Rahmat Ullah of the university police camp said, “We have arrested him. After taking him to the Kotwali police station, the case process will be completed. A plaintiff will be needed for this. If a case is filed, further legal action will be taken through the court.” Acting proctor of the university, Professor Dr. Kazi Farhad Qadir said, “We came to know through the students that the person was secretly taking pictures of girls. Later, the students arrested him and brought him to the proctor’s office. When he came here, he tried to break his mobile phone and destroy the evidence. Drugs were also found from him. Since the mobile phone was broken, we could not verify the evidence. Later, he was handed over to the police.”
