Two die after being electrocuted while digging a grave in Brahmanbaria

Two people died after being electrocuted while digging a grave in Kasba, Brahmanbaria. The accident occurred at around 11:30 am today, Monday (June 8) at the graveyard of Neyamatpur village in Mulgram union of the upazila. The deceased are Nuru Mia (65), son of Jamir Hossain of Neyamatpur village, and Sanaullah (18), son of Marju Mia.
It is learned that some youths and villagers took part in the work of digging a grave for the burial of the wife of the late Moti Sarkar of Neyamatpur village. At one point, while removing a steel sheet next to the graveyard, they came in contact with an electric wire. The two were rescued with serious injuries after being electrocuted and taken to the Upazila Health Complex. The doctor on duty there declared the two dead.
Police Inspector (Investigation) of Kasba Police Station Nurul Amin confirmed the incident and said, “We have received reports of two people dying due to electrocution in Neyamatpur village. Several others were injured in the incident.”
