Trump’s new order on fuel prices, action will be taken if not followed
US President Donald Trump has ordered the country’s fuel sellers to immediately reduce the price of gasoline. At the same time, he warned that if they do not follow this order, then ‘great danger’ awaits them. He gave this warning on his social media account ‘Truth Social’.
In the post, Trump wrote, ‘Fuel sellers must reduce prices immediately.’ He also said, ‘There is no opportunity to charge excessive prices. This is completely illegal. If sellers do not reduce prices, they will face big problems. Bring the price of gasoline down to about $ 2.50 per gallon.’ Last week, Trump also said that he had ordered the US Department of Justice (DOJ) to investigate the failure to reduce fuel prices at the pump despite the decline in crude oil prices.
He alleged that oil companies are charging excessive prices from customers. Oil prices in the international market rose after the US and Israel attacked Iran earlier this year. In response, Iran has also launched attacks on US military bases in Israel and the Gulf.
High fuel prices have become a growing source of frustration among US consumers. It has become a major political issue for Trump and his Republican Party, who are trying to maintain their slim majority in Congress ahead of the November midterm elections. However, US gasoline prices have recently fallen slightly due to increased diplomatic contacts between Washington and Tehran.
Meanwhile, US-Israeli attacks on Iran and Israel’s military campaign in Lebanon have killed thousands and displaced millions. Although a ceasefire that came into effect in April remains in place, the US and Iran have accused each other of violating it.
