Trawler capsizes after being hit by launch in Sadarghat, 2 missing

A trawler capsized after being hit by a passenger launch named MV Sundarban-12 in the Buriganga River in the capital’s Sadarghat area. Eight of the 10 people on the trawler were rescued alive in this incident, but two are still missing. The accident occurred at around 9:30 am today (July 19) in the Shyambazar Ghat area of ​​Sadarghat.
Fire Service Media Cell Inspector Md. Anwarul Islam confirmed the matter. He said that the launch MV Sundarban-12, which was heading from Barisal to Dhaka, collided with a new trawler heading to Comilla. As a result, the trawler sank immediately.
He also said that there were a total of 10 people on the trawler. After the accident, eight people were rescued safely with the help of locals. However, two are still missing. The fire brigade said that the location of the sunken trawler has been identified. A diving team from the Sadarghat River Fire Station is conducting a rescue operation to rescue the two missing people.
