Strict action against cattle truck pulling: DMP Commissioner

Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Additional IGP Mosleh Uddin Ahmed said that strict action will be taken against the concerned lessee if a cattle cart or any animal-carrying vehicle is forcibly pulled in the market or on the road on the occasion of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Azha.
He said this while addressing a special coordination meeting on the collection, preservation and marketing of sacrificial animal skins, safety of vehicles carrying raw skins and overall security and traffic management in the Dhaka Metropolitan Area at the conference room of the DMP headquarters at 11 am today, Tuesday (May 19).
The DMP Commissioner said that to maintain order in the market and keep the road free from traffic congestion, no animal can be kept outside the boundaries of the market. The DMP will install a fake money detection machine in the market. He called on the authorities concerned not to dig up the road during this Eid. The DMP Commissioner requested all government agencies to coordinate and fulfill their respective responsibilities to make the Eid Hajj safe and smooth.
Representatives of various intelligence agencies, representatives of various specialized units of the police, Bangladesh Bank, Department of Livestock, National Consumer Rights Department, Dhaka South City Corporation, Dhaka North City Corporation, Fire Service and Civil Defense, DPDC, DESCO, Dhaka District Administration, various government and private service providers, Salt Traders Association, Bangladesh Tanners Association and representatives of individuals or organizations leasing various animal markets in Dhaka metropolis were present in the coordination meeting.
At the beginning of the coordination meeting, DMP Joint Police Commissioner (Operations) Mohammad Shahidullah presented the overall security plan through a power point presentation. After that, representatives of various organizations present in the meeting participated in an open discussion and expressed their valuable opinions.

Masud Karim, Additional Police Commissioner (DB) Md. Shafiqul Islam, Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic) Md. Anisur Rahman, Joint Police Commissioners, Deputy Police Commissioners, police officers of various ranks and representatives of various concerned organizations were present.
