Proposal to form committee to amend constitution, names of 5 people sought from opposition
Law Minister Md. Asaduzzaman has announced the formation of a 17-member special committee to amend the constitution. Names of 5 people have been sought from the opposition for this. He said this on the 24th working day of the first session of the 13th National Parliament today, Wednesday (April 29).
The Law Minister said that 12 of the 17 members have been appointed from the government bench and the remaining 5 have been appointed from other parties and independents. Jamaat Ameer and Opposition Leader Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said that the opposition will inform about this proposal later.
In this regard, his comment was that they wanted reforms, but amendments are being brought here. He also said that this issue needs to be discussed. In response, Law Minister Md. Asaduzzaman said, we want to walk the path of amending the constitution according to the July Charter. If necessary, we can wait until the next session.
