Proposal to establish telecommunication in Rooppur approved

The committee has approved a proposal titled ‘Establishment of external telecommunication network for Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant’. It will cost Tk 616,225,822. The proposal was approved in a meeting of the committee held at the Secretariat today (April 23) under the chairmanship of Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury. Committee members, Cabinet Division Secretary Nasimul Gani and senior officials were present in the meeting.
The committee has approved the purchase proposal for Package-G-1, Lot-A of the ‘Establishment of external telecommunication network for Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant’ project. It is learned that when tenders were invited under the international (one-step two-envelope) tender system for the purchase of DWDM, SDH, PDH, microwave transmission, GPRS system and power system under this project, two tenders were submitted.
One of the tenders was considered technically acceptable. After all the tendering processes were completed, the committee approved the proposal to purchase the packaged goods and services described in the tender from the sole eligible bidder recommended by TEC, ZTE Corporation of China and ZTE Corporation Bangladesh Limited of Dhaka, at a cost of Tk 616,225,822.
