Pregnant wife hacked to death in Natore, husband arrested

A husband has been charged with hacking to death his pregnant wife Bulbuli Khatun Babita in Singra, Natore. The tragic incident took place on Tuesday (July 21) afternoon in Kunchi Bhadra village of Dahiya union of the upazila. The arrested husband, Mohammad Abdullah, is the son of Muzaffar Hossain of the same village.
Singra Police Station OC Rafiqul Islam said that due to a family dispute, Mohammad Abdullah hacked his seven-month pregnant wife Bulbuli Khatun Babita with a country-made sharp weapon, seriously injuring her. Hearing Bulbuli’s screams, locals came forward to rescue her and took her to a local doctor. Later, the doctor declared Bulbuli dead.
He added that on receiving information, the police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it to the Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. They conducted a drive and arrested Abdullah. Preparations are underway to file a murder case in this incident.
