Opposition leaders are speaking Sheikh Hasina’s language: Local Government Minister

Local Government Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the language that opposition leaders are speaking now is, ‘I will not let them remain in power for 5 years.’ Sheikh Hasina also used to say the same. He said this at a discussion meeting at the National Press Club today, Monday (August 3), on the occasion of the second anniversary of the July coup.
The Local Government Minister said that in 1991, the Awami League had said that they would not let the government remain in peace even for a moment. The current opposition leaders have started speaking in the same language. He also said that there is a misunderstanding that BNP does not want the implementation of the July Charter. The Consensus Commission raised questions about the referendum. The nation has been deceived. Where there is disagreement, BNP has said so. BNP will implement every part of the July Charter signed.
The Local Government Minister said that the language that opposition leaders are speaking on the streets is not right. It is their right to protest on the streets. However, it should not lead to conflict. He urged the opposition to decide through discussions in parliament whether the committee will be a review committee or a reform council.
He also condemned the places where incidents like the attack took place and said that the law and order forces would take action. At the same time, Information Minister Zahir Uddin Swapan said that an attempt is being made to artificially remove politics from parliament. BNP seeks cooperation from parties to maintain the flow of democratic culture. He also said that if there is an effective parliament and political debate in a democratic manner, the sacrifice of the martyrs will be successful.
