One killed in stabbing over land dispute in Patuakhali

A man named Shahidul Molla (45) was stabbed to death over a land dispute in Galachipa, Patuakhali. Police have arrested the accused Dulal Molla in this incident. The incident took place on Tuesday (April 14) night at the house of Paschim Kacharikanda Molla in Galachipa. Shahidul Molla is the son of Md. Motahar Molla of Paschim Kacharikanda area.
Police said that an argument broke out between Dulal Molla and Shahidul Molla during an arbitration meeting to resolve a land dispute yesterday afternoon. This disrupted the arbitration meeting. On his way home at night, Dulal attacked Shahidul with a sharp weapon. The injured Shahidul was rescued by locals and taken to the Galachipa Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
After this incident, the locals arrested Dulal Molla and handed him over to the police. In this regard, Galachipa Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Zillur Rahman said that Shahidul’s body has been sent to the Patuakhali Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. He also said that legal proceedings are underway in the incident.
