Foreign Minister’s Brussels visit, Bangladesh-EU Partnership and Cooperation Agreement to be signed

A Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA) is being signed between Bangladesh and the European Union to further institutionalize bilateral cooperation. A delegation led by the Foreign Minister will soon visit Brussels to sign the agreement.
Today, Wednesday (April 15), European Union Ambassador to the Ministry, Michael Miller, called on Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman. In the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the long-standing and mutually beneficial Bangladesh-EU partnership.
In the meeting, they noted that this relationship has become a comprehensive and multifaceted one. They discussed various areas of mutual interest including reform initiatives, migration management, skill development, rule of law and good governance. They also discussed the upcoming visit of the Foreign Minister to Brussels, leading a delegation, to further institutionalize bilateral cooperation.
According to sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh is interested in signing a partnership agreement with the European Union to improve bilateral relations. For this purpose, the Foreign Minister will visit Brussels on April 20. It is expected that Bangladesh’s investment and economic cooperation with Europe will increase during this visit.
