Netanyahu warns of another military strike on Iran if necessary
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that another military strike on Iran will be carried out if necessary. He claimed that Iran will not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons under any circumstances. Netanyahu made the remarks in an interview with Israel’s Channel 14 on Tuesday (June 30). Anadolu Agency reported this.
“We have protected ourselves from the threat of an Iranian nuclear bomb,” he said. Netanyahu’s remarks came at a time when a memorandum of understanding to resolve the conflict between the United States and Iran recently came into effect. The agreement, brokered by Pakistan, took effect on June 18. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and US President Donald Trump signed it electronically.
The memorandum of understanding sets out a framework for resolving long-standing unresolved issues between Washington and Tehran through negotiations. These include a ceasefire, sanctions relief, Iran’s nuclear program, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and a broader regional security system. However, Israel has been opposed to any kind of deal with Iran from the beginning. At the same time, the country’s government has also warned that it will take another military action against Tehran if necessary.
