Iran retaliates against US military installations in Kuwait

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has claimed responsibility for the attack on US military installations at the Ali al-Salem air base in Kuwait, Al Jazeera reported. In a statement published on Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed that an early warning radar system at the air base was destroyed in the drone strike.
The statement also said that separate strikes also hit a warehouse storing aircraft equipment and a hangar storing US drones. The force also claimed that several aircraft were set on fire. However, the veracity of these claims has not yet been independently verified.
Earlier, the US military carried out airstrikes on various military installations in Iran for the ninth consecutive night. The US Central Command said the strikes targeted Iranian military command centers, air defense systems, coastal surveillance centers, naval capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and communications networks. The operation ended at 10 p.m. Eastern Time on July 19, the Central Command said in a statement.
They claimed that the military operation was carried out to weaken the ability of potential attacks on commercial vessels and civilian sailors traveling through the Strait of Hormuz. At the same time, the Central Command said that its forces are on high alert and are ready to carry out further military operations if necessary.
