Hard hit on Iran in honor of fallen soldiers: Trump

US President Donald Trump has claimed that a “very hard” military strike is being carried out on Iran to honor the fallen US soldiers. He made the remarks while speaking to reporters after returning to Washington after the World Cup final match.
Trump said, “We hit them very hard tonight. We did it to honor our great patriots. The number of dead may be three.” Expressing deep sorrow over the casualties of the US soldiers, he said, “We are very saddened by this incident.”
Trump also claimed that the dead soldiers were carrying out their duties with the goal of “making sure that Iran never obtains a nuclear weapon.” Meanwhile, the US military has carried out airstrikes on various military facilities in Iran for the ninth consecutive night.
US Central Command said that the targets of the attacks were Iran’s military command center, air defense systems, coastal surveillance centers, naval capabilities, missile and drone launch sites and communications networks. A statement from Central Command said the operation ended at 10 p.m. ET on July 19.
They said the military operation was carried out to undermine potential attacks on commercial vessels and civilian sailors navigating the Strait of Hormuz. At the same time, Central Command said its forces are on high alert and are ready to conduct further military operations if necessary.
