Iran releases names of two teenage girls killed in US airstrike in southern Iran
Iran has released the names of two teenage girls killed in a US airstrike in southern Iran. The Iranian embassy in India published the names and photos of the two girls in a post on X. Al Jazeera reported this on Sunday (July 19).
A post on X said that two Iranian teenage girls — Sogand Darmand and Fatemeh Zahra Akbari — were among seven civilians killed in a US airstrike on a bridge in the southern Iranian port of Bandar Khamir. The bridge was hit late Thursday night as US forces carried out airstrikes across southern Iran. Iranian authorities said at least 50 people were killed and more than 500 injured in the US airstrike.
