Child Ramisa murder: Accused Sohel Rana seeks 10-day remand
The police have sought a 10-day remand of Sohel Rana, the main accused arrested in the child Ramisa murder case in Pallabi, Mirpur, in the capital. Pallabi police presented him in court today (May 20) and applied for remand. Earlier, Sohel Rana was arrested from Fatulla area of Narayanganj on Tuesday night.
Police said that Sohel Rana had been hiding since the incident. He was arrested after identifying his location through information technology and intelligence surveillance. Earlier, the police arrested his wife Swapna from the scene and started questioning her. Earlier, the murder took place at a house in B-block of section 11 of Pallabi around 9 am yesterday. The deceased Ramisa is the daughter of local resident Abdul Hannan Mollah.
Police and local sources said that Sohel Rana was a tenant of the flat next door. The reason for the murder of the child is being investigated. At the same time, it is also being investigated whether anyone else is involved in this incident. After the incident, Pallabi Police Station recovered the body. Later, CID and SB members visited the scene and collected various evidence.
