Army Chief to visit Turkey on official visit
Bangladesh Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman left Dhaka on Sunday (July 19) for Turkey on a five-day official visit at the invitation of the Turkish government.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army Chief will visit various modern defense industrial institutions and military installations in Turkey during the visit. These visits will provide an opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences on defense technology, military equipment production and various issues of mutual cooperation.
In addition, as part of the visit, he will pay courtesy calls and participate in bilateral meetings with senior officers of the Turkish Armed Forces and important figures in the country’s defense sector. These meetings are expected to discuss further expansion of existing defense cooperation between Bangladesh and Turkey, military training, technical cooperation and various issues of mutual interest.
Those concerned hope that the long-standing friendly relations and bilateral defense cooperation between Bangladesh and Turkey will be further strengthened through this visit by the Army Chief. He will return home after the next five-day visit.
