3 members of the same family hacked to death in Laxmipur; accused beaten
A mother and two daughters of the same family were hacked to death in Raipur, Laxmipur. Another daughter of the family was seriously injured in the incident. After the incident, locals beat up an accused youth and handed him over to the police.
The incident took place on Thursday (June 25) morning in the Gangpar area of Ward No. 3 of Raipur Municipality. The deceased were identified as Shahinur Begum, her daughter Saima Begum and Shilpa Begum. The seriously injured Iqra Begum has been sent to Dhaka for better treatment.
It is learnt that the deceased hailed from Subarnachar Upazila of Noakhali. They lived in a rented house in Gangpar area of Raipur. After the incident, the local mob detained a youth and beat him up. He was later handed over to the police. He was sent to Dhaka in a seriously injured condition for better treatment. Police said that the reason for the murder has not yet been confirmed.
