2 killed in lightning strikes in Rajbari and Jamalpur

A young man named Shamim Mia died in a lightning strike while fishing in Islampur upazila of Jamalpur. The accident occurred in Gaibandha union of the upazila on Wednesday (April 29) morning.
Locals said that Shamim had gone to fish in a pond near his house during the morning rain. At that time, he was seriously injured in a sudden lightning strike. He later died on the way to the hospital. On the other hand, a man named Sumon Ahmed died in a lightning strike in Rajbari district.
