2 killed in bus-ambulance collision in Pabna
Two people were killed and two others were injured in a collision between a passenger bus and an ambulance in Ataikula, Pabna. The accident occurred on Thursday (July 16) morning at Soradangi Karaitola in Ataikula area on the Dhaka-Pabna highway.
Police said the ambulance was carrying a body from Rajshahi to Mahmudpur area of Pabna’s Santhia upazila. On the way, when it reached Soradangi Karaitola in Ataikula area, the ambulance collided with a passenger bus named ‘Pabna Express’ from Dhaka to Pabna.
Ambulance driver Raj and Bulu Khatun, a relative of the patient in the ambulance, were killed on the spot. Two others were injured. They were later rescued and admitted to Pabna General Hospital. After the accident, the police seized the bus and ambulance. However, the bus driver and assistant fled the scene.
