15 killed as truck loaded with rods overturns on Dhaka-Tangail highway
Fifteen people were killed and several others injured when a truck loaded with rods overturned on the Dhaka-Tangail highway. The accident occurred at around 6:30 am today, Monday (May 25) in the Sartail area on the east side of the Jamuna Bridge. The identities of the deceased are yet to be known.
The OC on the east side of the Jamuna Bridge said that the truck loaded with rods from Dhaka was heading towards the Jamuna Bridge. When the driver reached the Sartail area of the road, the truck overturned. As a result, 15 people were crushed under the truck and died on the spot. On receiving the information, the police on the east side of the Jamuna Bridge in Tangail reached the spot and recovered the bodies. The bodies will be handed over to the families after completing the legal process.
