1 killed, 6 injured as passenger bus overturns in Sitakunda

One person was killed and at least six others were injured when a passenger bus lost control and overturned in Sitakunda, Chittagong.
The accident occurred in front of the Elias petrol pump on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in the Choto Kumira area of ​​Kumira Union at around 9 am on Sunday (July 19). Upon receiving information, members of the fire service reached the spot and launched a rescue operation and sent the injured to the Chittagong Medical College (CMC) Hospital.
Police said the deceased was approximately 30 years old. His identity was not immediately known. The injured were identified as Rawshan Akhter (38), Md. Mohiuddin (33), Mohammad Mannan (30), his wife Sonia Akhter (25), Arpita Saha (20) and Arif Md. Yusuf (51).
Nurul Alam Ashek, in-charge of the Chamek Hospital police outpost, said that seven people were brought to Chamek Hospital after a bus lost control and overturned in the Choto Kumira area of ​​Sitakunda. One of them was declared dead by the doctor on duty. The six injured are being admitted to Ward No. 2 of the hospital and are receiving treatment.
