Bulbul of Dagonbhuiya dies in the jungle of Hungary

The dream of Faridur Rahman Bulbul of Dagonbhuiya, Feni, to migrate to Europe in the hope of bringing prosperity to his family was shattered. He lost 18 lakh taka after falling into the clutches of a broker and died in a hospital in Hungary. Dagonbhuiya Police Station OC Muhammad Faizul Azim Noman confirmed the matter on Tuesday (July 21).
Bulbul (32) is the son of the late Mofizur Rahman of Sophie Doctor Bari of Purba Barahiguni area of ​​Joylaskar Union of that upazila. It is learned that he met broker Md. Dulal, a resident of Biranchi area of ​​Feni town. Bulbul made a contract of 18 lakh taka with Dulal, promising to take him directly to Italy by plane. His family paid the entire amount of the contract through cash and checks at different times.
According to the agreement, Bulbul left the country for Italy on June 16. However, instead of sending him directly to Italy, he was first taken to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. From there, Bulbul was taken to Hungary by road via Serbia and North Macedonia in Eastern Europe.
Relatives allege that Bulbul fell seriously ill in the Hungarian jungle during this long and risky journey. Later, he was admitted to a hospital there in a serious condition and died while undergoing treatment. He is survived by his wife and a five-year-old daughter. Currently, his wife is six months pregnant.
Family sources say that Bulbul had previously worked in a residential hotel in Saudi Arabia for a long time. About a year ago, he planned to return to the country and go to Italy. The deceased’s younger brother, Kazi Nazrul Islam, said that they last spoke to Bulbul on June 24. At that time, Bulbul said that the broker Dulal had kept his word and was taking him by train and bus instead of a direct flight. After that, IMO did not pick up the phone even after receiving calls from June 26.
Nazrul told Jugantor, when we went to the broker Dulal to look for his brother, he made various excuses. We are demanding that the brother’s body be brought back to the country quickly and that the fraudulent broker be punished as an exemplary punishment for the government. Finally, on Sunday morning, the Hungarian police first called the relatives and verified the information. Later, a team from Daganbhuiyan Police Station went to the house to confirm the identity, and the family came to know that Bulbul was no longer alive.
In this regard, Daganbhuiyan Police Station OC Muhammad Faizul Azim Noman said that the police headquarters asked to verify the address and identity. Accordingly, the police members went to the house and spoke to the family and confirmed the matter. Currently, the body of the deceased is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Hungary. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Shahidul Islam said that after knowing the matter, the administration is searching for the family and all necessary assistance will be provided.
