Youth dies after being electrocuted in fish enclosure in Rajbari

A youth named Mosharraf Khan (40) died after being electrocuted in a fish enclosure in Kalukhali Upazila of Rajbari. The incident took place on Wednesday (July 15) night in Durgapur village of Madapur Union. The deceased Mosharraf Khan is the son of Dabir Khan of Durgapur village of the upazila.
According to local sources, Mosharraf Khan went to his fish enclosure after eating on Wednesday night. While passing by the enclosure around 9 am on Thursday, an unidentified passerby saw him lying in the water and informed the locals. Later, the locals informed the fire brigade and Kalukhali Police Station, and the police recovered the body.
Locals believe that he was electrocuted and fell into the water while installing electric bulb lines in the fish enclosure. Kalukhali Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Habibur Rahman confirmed the incident and said the body has been sent to Rajbari Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. He said legal action is being taken in this regard.
