Big jump in gold prices in the country

After two consecutive days of price decline in the country’s market, the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has decided to increase the price of gold again. This time, the organization has increased the price of a bhori of 22-carat gold by Tk 4,432 to Tk 2,30,772 including VAT.
BAJUS gave this information in a notification on Monday (June 22) morning. This new price will be effective from 10 am today. The notification said that the price of pure gold has increased in the local market. As a result, the new price of gold including VAT has been determined considering the overall situation.
According to the new price, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori (11.664 grams) including VAT in the country’s market will be Tk 2,30,772. In addition, the price of 21-carat gold per bhori, the price of traditional gold per bhori has been determined at Tk 220,391 and Tk 189,248 and Tk 154,606 respectively.
In this context, the price of gold has been adjusted 79 times in the country’s market so far this year. Where the price has been increased 40 times, reduced 38 times and VAT has been adjusted 1 time. And in 2025, the price of gold was adjusted in the domestic market a total of 93 times; where the price was increased 64 times and reduced 29 times.
