Fire in Khulna Medical, 11 units of the fire brigade under control

A fire broke out in the emergency operation theater (OT) department of Khulna Medical College Hospital. The incident occurred today, Wednesday (May 20) at around 6:30 am. Upon receiving the information, 11 units of the fire brigade reached the spot. The fire was brought under control after about an hour of effort. During this, a fire brigade worker was injured.
The fire brigade said that it is initially believed that the fire started from an electrical short circuit. A doctor in charge of the OT said that when the fire suddenly spread, two nurses and a doctor in the OT jumped out of the window. They were later treated for their injuries. Meanwhile, there were 15 patients in the OT department’s 15 beds. They were evacuated safely soon after the fire broke out.
