Minister faces obstacles while inspecting bridge construction site in Bauphal

Bridges Minister Sheikh Rabiul Alam faced obstacles while inspecting the potential bridge construction site over the Lohalia River in the Baga area of ​​Bauphal, Patuakhali. The incident occurred on Tuesday (May 19) afternoon in the Baga area of ​​the upazila.
It is learned that two separate stages were set up to welcome the minister at the Baga and Dumki ends. The stage at the Baga end was set up by Patuakhali-2 MP Shafiqul Islam Masud. When the minister crossed the river by ferry to the stage at the Baga end, BNP leaders and workers blocked the road and started shouting slogans. Local BNP leaders and workers have complained that they protested because the banner of the stage did not have the picture of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman.
At that time, a scuffle and scuffle broke out between the followers of Shahidul Islam, the BNP’s nominated MP candidate for this constituency, and local Jamaat leaders and workers. When the situation heated up, a commotion broke out. At one point, due to security reasons, the bridge minister went to the Dumki end stage to attend a short meeting instead of going to the Boga end stage. In this regard, the officer-in-charge (OC) of Bauphal police station Sirajul Islam said that two stages were set up at the Boga and Dumki ends to mark the arrival of the bridge minister. BNP leaders and workers protested on the streets as the banner did not have the prime minister’s picture. The minister understood the matter. Instead of going to the stage, he started his next journey by giving details and possible timing of the bridge construction.
