Ukrainian drone enters Estonia

Amid the Ukraine-Russia war, a NATO fighter jet shot down a Ukrainian drone that entered the airspace of the Baltic state of Estonia in northeastern Europe. The incident occurred near Estonia’s southeastern border on Tuesday afternoon (May 19).
A statement from the Estonian military said that the drone had flown from the Russian direction and suddenly entered the country’s airspace. At that time, a Romanian NATO fighter jet, which was regularly training in the area, immediately fired a missile and destroyed the drone in the sky. After the drone was shot down, its debris was scattered across various parts of Estonia. However, no damage or casualties were reported in the incident.
Meanwhile, after a preliminary investigation, the Estonian government identified the drone as belonging to the Ukrainian military. However, Tallinn directly blamed Moscow for the entry of the Ukrainian drone into its airspace. The Ukrainian Defense Ministry also claimed that its drone was originally sent to target the Russian border, but due to the impact of Russia’s powerful electronic warfare (EW) or jamming technology, the drone lost control and entered Estonian airspace from the Russian side.
