Fish trader murdered by wife and children in Natore, mother and son arrested

A fish trader named Rafiqul Islam Rubel (40) has been accused of slitting his throat in Singra, Natore over a dispute with his wife and children. Police have arrested the accused wife Shiuli Begum and son Royal in this incident. The body of the deceased was recovered from Bishnupur area of ​​Italy Union of the upazila on Monday (May 4) morning.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Singra Police Station Rafiqul Islam said that Rubel had a heated argument with his wife and children over a family matter on Sunday night. At one point, he got angry and went to sleep in a separate room. When Rubel fell asleep late at night, his wife and children seized the opportunity and slit his throat with a sharp knife. This morning, hearing the screams of relatives, neighbors came forward and saw Rubel’s bloody body inside the house. Later, when the locals informed the police, the police went to the spot and recovered the body.
Immediately after the murder, Natore DB police conducted a raid and arrested the accused Shiuli Begum and her son Royal. According to the information given by them, the knife used in the murder and blood-stained clothes were recovered from a pond near the house.
During the initial interrogation, the arrested mother and son confessed to their involvement in the murder. However, the police are trying to find out the exact reason for such a brutal incident through detailed interrogation. The body has been sent to the Natore Aduhin Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy and the process of filing a murder case in this incident is underway.
