What the director said about Rahul’s death

It was yesterday Sunday evening (March 29). The eyes of the whole city were on the Kolkata-Mumbai Indians IPL match. Just then the news came that popular Tollywood actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee is no more. At the age of 43, he left for the country from which there is no return.
The actor drowned while shooting for the serial ‘Bhole Baba Par Karega’ at Talsari beach on the West Bengal-Odisha border. The news of his death shocked Tollywood.
Many people at the shooting spot are saying about his death that the shooting had already ended by then. The popular actor from Talipara drowned in the sea in front of the unit people. But what really happened? Now the director of the serial ‘Bhole Baba Par Karega’ Subhashish Mondal has opened up about this.
The director said that a shot was going on in Talsari. Actresses Shweta and Rahulda were standing in water up to their ankles. Shweta and Rahulda were throwing water at each other and playing hide and seek. We were running the camera from behind. While doing so, Rahulda started moving towards the sea holding Shweta’s hand. The water came almost up to her knees and she lost her balance a little.
He said, we shouted to stop her from leaving. By then the water had come up to Rahulda’s neck. It was like drowning. 10-12 people from the unit dropped everything and rushed towards her. But within moments, she started drowning. She must have swallowed a lot of water.
Subhashish Mandal said, everyone from the unit quickly threw ropes from nearby boats to pull Rahul out. The actor was still conscious. He said, they were then rushed to Digha Subdistrict Hospital in a car. But the doctors there declared the actor dead.
It is worth mentioning that in 2008, Rahul gained popularity overnight by acting in Raj Chakraborty’s blockbuster movie ‘Chirdin Tumi Je Amar’. For the movie-loving audience, he was the Rahul of the ‘Rahul-Priyanka’ pair. Seeing the love of Krishna and Pallavi, an entire generation was attracted to Bengali cinema.
The love of that pair became a reality. Rahul-Priyanka got married in 2010. The couple had a son named Sohaj. At one point in their married life, there was a distance. But even then, the Rahul-Priyanka pair was unbreakable for the audience. With time, the broken relationship started to mend. The Rahul-Priyanka pair in the movie will remain immortal for the audience. And the Krishna-Pallavi pair is still immortal in the eyes of the audience.
