Pran Roy also sold his hobby car for his wife’s treatment

National Film Award-winning director Shahnewaz Kakoli was undergoing treatment for a long time after suffering a stroke. Her husband, actor Pran Roy, sold his hobby private car to meet the treatment expenses. According to Pran Roy, Kakoli’s treatment currently costs more than eight thousand rupees per day.
The actor said that due to the stroke, some parts of his face have become curved and he is still unable to speak normally. He is undergoing three therapies regularly. However, there has been some improvement compared to before. Now he can eat with his own hands and can even sit with help.
Kakoli was taken to the hospital after falling ill in October last year. At that time, the doctors said that he had suffered a stroke. After two months of continuous treatment, he stayed at home for a few days, but was readmitted on February 1 of this month. He is currently undergoing treatment at the Centre for Rehabilitation of Paralyzed People (CRP).
The actor’s financial stress has increased further as his work has almost stopped.
Pran Roy said that he is getting help from family and friends to cover the medical expenses. However, he is also thinking of taking government assistance if necessary. Meanwhile, Pran Roy alleged that although the Actors’ Association is standing by Kakli, there has been no response from the Directors’ Association.
